About Georgina McBurney
Georgie is an accredited counsellor, supervisor and tutor of counselling skills. She has a private practice in Dorset, UK and works with clients in person and remotely. Georgie has specialised in inner child work for adults and is trained in humanistic and transpersonal modalities. Alongside counselling, she offers somatic shamanism, matrix reimprinting with emotional freedom technique and equine facilitated counselling. She works with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, narcisstist recovery, self esteem and confidence building. Georgie is BUPA recognised and an accredited member of the BACP. Inspired by her first pony Jac’s ability to connect to people, Georgie trained in both counselling and Equine Facilitated work following careers in the education and public services sectors. Georgie has two ponies, Pixie a young Welsh B and Jojo an Arabian princess. She is a contributing author in Equine Leadership Publication and teaches local workshops to deepen the horse-human connection.

Holistic Therapist
2007-2014
Self-employment as an animal behaviourist. Evolved into holistic therapy for animals and counselling to support humans who were often the root cause of animal behavioural issues. Georgie still gives guest talks on essential oil therapy.
Kinship Foster Carer
2011-2015
Whilst a kinship foster carer for her niece, Georgie became a finalist for the Venus Business Women’s Award’s for ‘Influential Woman of the year’ (Dorset, 2015).
Army & Police
1994-2004
Georgie has worked for Merseyside (1994), Thames Valley (2001) and Dorset (2020) Police as a Special Constable and Control Room Operator. Additionally, a solider in the British Army (Int Corps Operator) (1995-2000).
